The Hornady Match 6mm ARC 108 Grain ELD Match was developed to meet the rigorous demands of the U.S. DoD, bringing true 1,000-yard capability to the AR-15 platform. While similar in name to the ELD-X (Precision Hunter) line, the ELD Match used in this load is strictly engineered for target uniformity and competitive consistency.
The Heat Shield™ polymer tip is the defining feature of this round. Unlike standard tips that melt due to aerodynamic friction, the Heat Shield material resists heat to maintain a perfect meplat, ensuring high ballistic coefficients (.536 G1) throughout the entire flight path. Paired with AMP® (Advanced Manufacturing Process) jackets, these bullets offer nearly zero wall thickness variation, providing the rotational stability needed for sub-MOA groups.
For the reloader and high-volume shooter, the cases are stringently selected based on wall thickness uniformity and internal capacity. This ensures that every shot delivers repeatable pressure and velocity, allowing you to self-spot impacts and make rapid adjustments even at extended distances.
